Unclaimed property recovery · California

What they left for you is still waiting.

Sometimes a parent or grandparent leaves something behind that no one in the family knew about. I help families find it and bring it home.

Every life insurance policy began as a promise to protect the people someone loved. My work is to make sure that promise is kept.

About me

Someone had thought of me, and no one knew.

I'm Maria Rosa. I started this work because of something that happened in my own family. When I found out, I understood how much it can mean.

Every unclaimed policy is someone who wanted to take care of a person they loved. I want to make sure that care reaches them.

How it works

I take care of the work. You take care of your family.

01

I find the unclaimed asset

In California's public records of money never collected.

02

I locate the owner or heirs

So it reaches the right family.

03

You sign a standard agreement

The State's official form. Take all the time you need.

04

I file the claim for you

Until the payment arrives in your name.

Nothing to pay unless you receive the money

I never charge upfront. I only earn a percentage when your claim is paid.

No upfront payment You never pay me out of pocket.
No recovery, no fee If the claim is not paid, you owe nothing.
Terms in writing The exact percentage is in your signed agreement.

What I will never do

Families are right to be careful. These rules apply to every case I handle.

  • —Ask you to pay anything before your claim is paid.
  • —Ask for your bank login, card numbers or passwords.
  • —Pressure you to sign. Take the time you need.
  • —Charge more than California law allows.

Common questions

How did you find my family?

Unclaimed property records in California are public. When I find an unpaid life insurance or annuity benefit, I use public records to identify the owner or the heirs and write to them.

Are you part of the government?

No. Golden State Heir Services is a private company. The funds are held by the California State Controller's Office, and I help you prepare and file your claim with them.

What documents will I need?

Usually a photo ID, and for an inheritance a copy of the death certificate and proof of your relationship to the person who passed away. I tell you exactly what your case requires.

How long does it take?

The State sets the processing time, and it depends on the claim. I keep you updated at every step until payment is issued.

Where are you located?

I work by mail and email. My mailing address is in Sacramento, California, and is listed below.
